An Answer to Assemblies of God Systematic Theology, Creed and Dogma!

As far as the History of the Assemblies of God and their preface by Stanley M Horton and General Editor; I will not spend much time with, due to the fact the History of any organization is subject to real justification and verifiable facts, otherwise it is all subjective to dispositions of memory of how one perceived them to be! Look at Josephus for example, and even Philo, not to mention all the mistakes found in Eusebius as well. So I will not spend any time with this but move right into this thesis:

An answer to Assemblies of God, Systematic Theologies by Rev. G. L. Boyett. No comment on chapter one. It was mostly history of the Pentecostal Movement and a review of as to what they believe and why. Much has to be said about this section as to their beliefs but we can move into that in chapter 2; it is most likely to be redundant at this time to enter into a debate on anything said in chapter 1; only to say this; that none of them up to this point has entirely left the Roman Catholic Church or the Dogma of three gods being co-equal and co-eternal of the same substance which is oxymoronic and is un-defendable pre or pro-supposition to try to debate, let alone base a Creed of Fundamental Axioms on: At least as far as I am concerned! I will show why later on, when we study their own theology, by the way is their Christology as well; let us begin.

Chapter 2; Theology or theological foundations: by James H. Railey, Jr. & Benny C. Aker

Every paper of theology or philosophy that are nothing more than the existence of idealism or beliefs, regardless if realism plays a major fact or not, some things must be taken on faith, or there is no religion or beliefs at all to begin with; as well as no pleasing God, Heb.11:6! So let us get to the first of their main points or axioms: (page 39 paragraph 1): We see here that they need two persons to defend their three god system of theology. Can two walk together unless they agree? No! Otherwise they go separate ways. This is why the churches in general lost their power, they have to return to their first love and that is Jesus Christ, who is both “LORD” and “The CHRIST” Ac.2:38 who is LORD of ALL Ac.10:36! See Rev.2:4-5 as to what those churches need to do!

Chapter 2 second paragraph page 39:

 When starting a Systematic Theology paper we need to set definitions or axioms also called a maxim, to terms used in the paper; we see here that they start off with the subject of God and that God does exist and has made Himself known to mankind; so far I too am in agreement, so far; but in the case of the Assemblies of God, they have their gods as well; namely three (1.) The Father (2.) The Son of God, Jesus the Christ, (3.) The Holy Spirit, (The power of God and responsible for gifts of the Spirit. Stated by Melvin L. Hodges speaking at the Congress at Wheaton College in April 1966, where he recognized the importance of the Kingdom for understanding a New Testament Theology of Mission, he declared the Church to be “The present manifestation of the Kingdom of God in the Earth, or at least, the Agency that prepares the way for the future manifestations of the Kingdom. Its mission therefore is the extension of the Church throughout the world…It is the Holy Spirit that gives life to the church and imparts gifts and ministries as well as power for their performance.” Page 33.)

But in all fairness the first paragraph is trying to set a maxim or an axiom for a foundational thought in which to lay stones, and foundation in which to build upon: So the belief in God, not “An” or “A” God but just God for them is safe to say here: To my estimation they are making a safe call here; they say He, God has revealed himself to mankind and made Himself available to mankind of anthropology and to anthropologists! Unfortunately to the AOG! See Mt.11:27; Lk.10:22; and Jn.6:45. The true children of God, have seen Him and know Him as seen in 1 Tm.3:16 and Jn.1:1-18 when the Holy One manifested Himself in a seed of a Levite girl called Mary, whose mother was sister to Elizabeth also from the tribe of Aaron and married to a High Priest Zechariah in the English translation and written as Zacharia in the Greek, Englishman’s Interlinear, Lk.1:1-fs. Verse number 12 looked at here for example. But we true Pentecostals see Jesus manifested in the Spirit without measure is placed in the seed of Mary (Jn.3:34), as seen there. Thus making the Holy Spirit which is the Father that is inside Jesus who doeth the works (Jn.14:7-9), and is the very God seen and told to us by Jesus Himself to us by Godly men of Old 2 Pt.1:19-21, who have a more sure foundational theology than of those men of the Assemblies of God, that they are trying to establish here and now; but back to see who God is, in the very eyes of Jesus, for He told us God is a Spirit, Jn.4:24! The same God that told us to be Holy because He is Holy (1Pt.1:13-16 and Ex.19:6)!

We left off with God being the Holy Spirit, because Jesus told us who God is, just that simple Jn.4:24, everything the Hebrews have known and understood from the Zech.14:9, That God is One Deu.6:4! Imagine that True Monotheism; just as Jesus told us all along that the Father in Him is One Jn.10:30! And when we see Jesus we are seeing the same God “ONE-HIMSELF (Jn.16:28 & 1 Tm.6:13-16)” Who sent (Manifested Mt.1:18, 20 and 23; Lk.1:35, who can do all things Lk.1:37 & Mt.19:26) in and by Himself, Jn.12:45, when you see Me we have seen the Father the very one who sent Him! Even as Jesus has explained to us Himself in Jn.8:58; that He alone was before Abraham in the Spirit, see Heb.12:9, for God is the place, “Thee Place” from which all spirits originate Heb.12:9, and to which all spirits return Ecc.12:7 to Jesus Christ, seen in Phil.2:10 to which every man who is to know God. Will return to for judgment, Mt.16:27, Phil.2:10-12 and Rev.14:13: Where we must work out our own salvation by His requirements not a religious council! Or a Systematic Theology Course! But here is the main subject matter that needs to be brought forward in this Thesis; if they fail on the first axiom on which they try to build upon as here and miss the mark as they did not knowing the God-man Jesus the Christ is God with us our Immanuel, that is the Holy One, who was, and is, and is to come; Rev.4:8, God Almighty Himself as seen in Is.9:6, they lost their chief corner stone of their foundation to begin with and all the rest they have to say is pure conjecture and Heretical Hearsay!
